« back to courses page

Let your child experience “going to college!” The Growing Young Minds (GYM) program takes place in the information-rich setting of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to give students a hands-on, summer-fun educational adventure. The collection of sessions will embrace Environmental Studies, Liberal Arts as well as Leadership Development. It is designed to be standard-based but learning will be so entertaining our youth will not even know they are learning! This engaging camp will be taught by highly qualified teachers from our community. A school-based librarian will be an integral part of the staff as she works with the students to develop character building wisdom. Grade groups will practice teamwork, critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they participate in one-of-a-kind moments. This summer-fun educational adventure is planned so that children will walk around campus to experience interesting attractions such as the library, the UL Cypress Lake, and age-appropriate experiences to help their growing young minds blossom.
