Jewelry Making for Beginners (Ages 12 & up)

Jewelry making is fun and it is a creative way to express who you are with a fashionable end result.  In this 6-week class you will learn the basics of making jewelry which will include making necklaces with fine wire, how to make both drop earrings and post earrings, as well as how to work with some newer designs for pendants and bracelets.
 
Look at all the skills you will learn:
  • How to make necklaces with wire, how to attach wire protector and crimp bead cover.
  • How to make necklaces with chain, pendants and bails, as well as hanging charms or beads from the chain with jump rings.
  • When and how to use a bail.
  • How to wrap wire earrings.  
  • Learn the difference between gold filled and gold plated; sterling silver and silver plate.
  • How to make loops for earrings and charms.
  • How to deal with jump rings of any size.
  • The kind of glue that works best with different surfaces.
  • Color schemes – combining, matching and coordinating. 
  • If time permits, the instructor will also show the class how to pour resin for charms and the secret to removing the bubbles from the resin, if there are any.  
 
The highlight of this class is that the instructor will provide you with everything you need! Ages 12 and up.
