ID : 10891
« back to classes page
While most of us know that south Louisiana consists of Cajun and Creole cultures, many are unaware that in its earliest years, Louisiana became home to Swiss-Germans, Islenos, and Malaguenos. Learn about the impact of those arrivals and how they changed the cultural landscape. Later, Haitians, Irish, Italians, Croatians and Hungarians also arrived. When and why they came, and where to go to experience these cultures is the focus of this class.
