Remember the story about a room full of waste and the young child who is excited because that must mean there is a horse in there somewhere! Well, data may present us with the same issue, there is important information to be had, IF we know where and how to find it. We all collect data whether we are office professionals, organization officers, team coaches, etc. If our time is important to us, we need to use technology to maximize that time. Garbage in/Garbage out (GIGO) is our first clue, how do we set things up to 1) make it easy to enter and acquire data, then, 2) find ways to quickly and efficiently mine that data to get what we need and want. There are many ways to utilize technology to get organized and this class will discuss using Google Forms, Survey Monkey, EXCEL and other applications to keep track of information and determine what means what. The first session will cover some of the how-to’s while the second session will be devoted to troubleshooting issues which may have arisen trying to use these applications. No prior experience with Google Forms, Survey Monkey or EXCEL is necessary although it would be helpful.
