This program is designed to help healthcare providers communicate in Spanish with Hispanic patients and their families who have little or no understanding of English.  This course has prerequisites, unless give special permission by the instructor.  (The textbook is the same in all three levels.)  $275
  • Racial and genetic backgrounds: Health risks among Hispanics.
  • Improve listening skills.
  • Easy-to-follow tips on understanding colloquial spoken Spanish.  
  • Words and phrases likely to be used in a medical setting.
  • True-to-life dialogues dramatize situations pertaining to allergies, medical history, family history, pregnancy, pain assessment, broken bones, pediatric care, nutrition, heart and lung diseases, pharmacy prescriptions, etc.
