Spanish for Healthcare Providers II

This program is designed to help healthcare providers with a minimum understanding of Spanish communicate in Spanish with Hispanic patients and their families who have little or no understanding of English.  This course is a prerequisite to the Spanish for Health care Providers Level III, unless give special permission by the instructor.  (The textbook is the same in all three levels.)  
  • Spanish language, its origin and history.
  • Hispanic culture.
  • Basic Vocabulary: Greetings, verbs, how to ask questions, informing families about patients' medical care or death.
  • Listening skills.
  • Spanish words/phrases with its phonetic pronunciation. True-to-life dialogues dramatize situations.
