Spanish for Healthcare Providers I
This program is designed to help healthcare providers with no or minimal understanding of Spanish communicate in Spanish with Hispanic patients and their families who have little or no understanding of English. This course is a prerequisite to the Spanish for Healthcare Providers Level II and III, unless given special permission by the instructor.
• Spanish language, its origin and history.
• Hispanic culture.
• Spanish Phonetic and pronunciation.
• Basic Vocabulary: Greetings, numbers, some verbs, how to ask questions, etc.
Spanish for Healthcare Providers is being taught by a physician and is designed for nurses, doctors, hospital staff, medical technicians and/or health insurance representatives. Basic Spanish is desirable but not necessary. This course includes the book, Spanish for Health Care Professionals, 4th Edition.
